Five Day Learning Map Sample

According to Fischer and Fry in their  book Checking for Understanding: Formative Assessment Techniques for your Classroom it is important to consider the concept of Understanding by Design when planning a Scope and Sequence. They state, "Teachers and curriculum developers learned to begin with the end in mind and plan accordingly" (Fischer, 2014, p. 8). Ultimately, backward design is a key component for a teacher when planning out their units.
